    Zum Berge, Hermann
My ancestors Hermann Zum Berge and his wife Sophie nee Sturm sailed from Bremen, November 13, 1845,on the ship Creole. The Captain of the ship was J. Y. Dannemann. They arrived in Galveston in April 23, with 122 immigrants. They settled in New Braunfels. My Grandmother stated that he was a Texas Ranger. But it was not exactly correct. He was a lieutenant in Company B one of the seven Texas State Troops. He was a constable of New Braunfels and served in the Campaign against the Commanches. He was elected Treasury of New Braunfels and owned a farm there.

"A New Land Beckoned"by Geue Hermann Zum Berge from Sulfeld amt Fallerseben Kgr, Hanover; wife Sophie nee Sturm arrived on the Creole from Bremen on November 13 1845, arrived Galveston on April 23, 1846, 122 immigrants on board.

Some information states that the family lived in Gillespie county and some Comal County. New Braunfels was home to the ZumBergwes Hermann, Emil, Georgine, Hugo, Sophie and Anna (married Uecker)
Any information you may have will be appreciated thank you.
