Diane's Chili
2 Tbsp. fat
1 tsp. garlic salt
3/4 cup onions, chopped
1 lb. ground beef
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 Tbsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1 can Red Kidney beans
Optional toppings: Cheddar Cheese and sour cream.
Cook onions in fat until soft. Brown meat. add sauce, chili powder, salt and sitr well. Cover and cook over low heat for 20 minutes. Add beans with liquid and 1/2 can of water.
Note: This is a mild "winter Texan" chili recipe. Serve with Tobasco for those who would like a hot chili. Excellent with Cornbread!
